26th June 2017
Dear friends, as we approach the Cissa Pass and our entry into Tuscany, it is worth reminding us all why we are doing this.
The sounds that we hear every day on this epic walk of ours, the cocks heralding a new dawn, birds chirping away, the cuckoo greeting the day with that unmistakable sound, the frogs along the river banks, the rustle of the wind among the trees, these are all sounds we take for granted.
Please spare a thought for all those children who are deaf and who cannot enjoy these sounds in the same way we do. Then maybe you will be moved into making a contribution to NDCS the National Deaf Children's Society.
We want to thank those 53 people who have already donated and we hope that our efforts on this walk will encourage you to join them. We also want to thank you all for your comments on our daily blogs. We apologise for not replying to those personally but at the end of the day we are so tired that it is a real effort to prepare a blog let alone reply to your many likes and comments. We appreciate your interaction and we thank you for following our little adventure.
