Champlitte to Seveux
Champlitte to Seveux
We had hoped for a short walk today but we're unable to find accommodation so we had to lengthen our walk by another 7 kms to Seveux. It started to rain shortly after we left Champlitte so we took cover in a bus stop until the worst of the storm had passed.
Lots of activities in the fields today as they begin to harvest the "Colza" (rapeseed). Some excitement as we saw a baby goat that had obviously escaped from its enclosure, walking in the middle of what was a busy road. All our efforts to get it to go into a field proved fruitless so there is one neighbour waking up this morning to find a baby goat in their garden. Hope it doesn't eat their flowers, but we couldn't see what else to do to save the poor animal from being run over. Anyway on our arrival in Seveux we met the local Mayor who is trying to promote the Via Francígena. All in all not a bad day. Some rest now and then early dinner. Another long stretch awaits tomorrow!
