We left this morning from our country mansion (!) as it started to rain. It continued raining all morning. It's been a wet and fairly miserable day. What brightened up the day was first a very nice lunch in Corbeny which helped to break up the day and the fact that it stopped raining for most of the afternoon. We had planned on walking a fairly straight route to Berry-au-Bac along the D1044. Unfortunately we considered it was too dangerous to walk along there and opted for a safer but much longer route. The end result was that we ended up walking 29kms, the longest day's walk so far! Naturally we feel a little bit tired. Tonight we sleep in a motel on the way to Rheims which we hope to reach tomorrow.
